Community Support Demonstrates Care
Services include volunteer visit teams, free haircuts, physical and mental health exercises such as Eight Brocades Yoga, social work counseling, case support referrals, and an elderly depression support hotline. Through these service programs, seniors can receive care and support, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and helplessness, and enhance their coping skills and confidence in facing life.
"Endless Joy" Infinite Happiness
The "Endless Joy" handmade project aims to provide seniors with opportunities to showcase their creativity and expertise through various artistic creations and generate additional income. These artistic creations include knitting, sewing, painting, calligraphy, and more, with products such as hand-knit scarves, fabric bags, green plants, and souvenirs.
These products are sold through various channels, and the proceeds are allocated to support various welfare services. Additionally, the "Endless Joy" project encourages interaction and socialization among some elderly living alone, allowing them to share experiences in a relaxed atmosphere, strengthen their social networks, and improve mental health.
Caring Volunteers Community Visits
The volunteer visit team is a group of passionate volunteers who regularly visit seniors in the community, offering care and support through conversation and companionship.
The main purpose of the visit team is to provide companionship for the elderly, helping them through lonely days, listening to their stories and experiences, understanding their needs, and encouraging them to participate in community activities.
Volunteers receive professional training regularly, learning how to communicate with seniors, identify and address their emotional and practical needs.
They also organize activities and offer small assistance, such as helping seniors with shopping and purchasing daily necessities.
Through the work of the visit team, Happy Care Action aims to enhance community cohesion, promote community integration, and provide more care and support for seniors.
Caring Volunteer Haircuts - Cutting Away Worries
The volunteer haircut activity aims to provide free haircut services to disadvantaged communities, such as seniors, low-income families, and others in need. This initiative saves them money while providing a comfortable haircut environment. Volunteer stylists not only provide haircuts but also chat with participants, listen to their stories, and offer comfort and support.
Elderly Depression Support Service Hotline
Established in 2002, the "Elderly Depression Support Service Hotline" found that most seniors suffering from depression began to experience mental and physical decline after retirement, leading to depression unknowingly.
One reason for the high prevalence of depression among the elderly is the sense of loss after retirement. Since 2002, the organization has been dedicated to promoting employment for seniors, providing them with more opportunities to make choices for their later years, including finding employment for the elderly.
Through these programs, the organization aims to empower the elderly by offering employment opportunities, skill development, and social support, improving their quality of life and enhancing their self-esteem.
By providing a wide range of services, the organization helps seniors overcome the challenges they face in their daily lives, enabling them to maintain their dignity and contribute positively to society.
